About Our Organization
We are a volunteer organization housed at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Knoxville, Tennessee. We partner with St. Kateri Tekakwitha parish in Tabb, Virginia, Saint John Neumann Catholic Church Knoxville, and St. Anselm parish in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. We receive financial support from dozens of individuals and businesses. With no administrative costs, all donations go to support our education, medical and spiritual missions in Haiti.
Since 1999, we have worked closely with the people of Boucan-Carré, a rural community of 5,000 in Haiti’s Central Plateau. Our efforts are based upon a close partnership with the Haitian parish of St. Michel. A portion of our funding goes to support the spiritual mission of St. Michel parish. We welcome the participation of any church or individual that would like to join our mission.
Our mission is guided by a focus on strengthening the spirit, mind and body of the Haitian people. Each year we send three to four teams to Haiti. Anyone in reasonable shape is welcome to join the groups that include medical and non-medical personnel as well as high school and college students. You can learn more about our mission via this interview.
